Associated Amateur Artistes

Associated Amateur Artistes was founded in 1966 by a group of youngsters interested in theatre to learn about theatre & to promote meaningful & healthy theatrical activities.

Associated Amateur Artistes has many achievements to its credit. Some of them are:
Pioneers in using distorted sets
First to use levels in theatre in Bangalore
First to produce late T P Kailasam’s ‘Soolay’ with amateur artistes portraying the various roles of the play.
Changing the climax of Late Niranjana’s ‘Sangamasnana’ & gaining appreciation from the author.
First to produce Dr. Anupama Niranjana’s ‘Kallola’
Training all the members of the association in Make up, stage craft & lighting.
First to train its members in theatre management, including theatre economics.
Published bi-monthly magazine ‘Natyabharati’
First to produce V K Murthy’s ‘Varnandha’, a full length court room drama.
First to produce Late T P Kailasam’s ‘Gandaskathru & Henninabalu kannire’ together.

Associated Amateur Artistes is now producing ‘ENMADOKKEAGUTTE’ scripted by
Mr. Madhu Koundinya & Mr. Hirianniah Haranahalli. The play is based on the music composition ‘Nee Da Ma Da’ by Dr. Krishna Raghavendra, in a unique style.

Associated Amateur Artistes intends producing new kannada plays such as Mr. N C Mahesh’s ‘Bidi Naanu Devaragey Iraballe’ , ‘Mattondu Prema Kathey’ & Late T P Kailasam’s ‘Soolay’ in the coming months.
